The Demon IV is the last in the series of Demon designs created by John Schreiner. The Demon IV is best known for its river running characteristics, outstanding blasting and surfing abilities, and squirt prowess. The Demon IV spins easily in the flat plane due to its flat hull. This makes it an outstanding surfing machine, carving easily on a big wave. It also performs well as a high performance ocean surfing kayak. The flat, wide tail has created a superior blasting boat. The hull has considerable rocker, affording easy eddy turns. The flat stern deck generates dynamic backenders. The rounded blunt stern allows hole escape if backed into the center of a hydraulic. The bow of the deck contains raised bumps for knees and feet. This is a very comfortable boat which – depending upon the cut – will do bow and stern squirts. Because it is longer than other squirt boats it has a faster cruising speed. The Demon IV is an excellent choice for those who want to paddle rivers with a boat they can squirt while maintaining a high degree of control. It is also the choice for many boaters who like to spend considerable time blasting and surfing.
